Scout pictured at 6 years old - Best of Breed - July 2007 Scout finished her championship in grand style taking winner's bitch 3 out of the 4 days at the 2003 Wine Country circuit dog shows in Romulus, New York including the Irish Water Spaniel Supported entry. Her points included:
Other Conformation Achievements include:
Conformationally, Scout is a well balanced bitch with great movement. She is 22.5 inches at the shoulders and she is well-boned, substantial and has great rib spring but she is still very feminine. She has a great outline with beautiful curves in the right places. Her shoulders and front end assembly are great and she also has a great tail set. Her coat is of a very strong quality with crisp curls. Scout is strong conformationally not only for the breed ring but also so she can effectively do her performance work. Scout was not shown in the breed ring much in 2005 and 2006 as we focused on NADAC agility, earning her junior hunter title, and training for utility obedience. During the first part of 2006, we focused on her litter of puppies born on April 11, 2006. Once Scout got back into shape after her first litter, we focused on training for our utility obedience title and competing in lots of AKC agility trials. Scout returned to a beautiful condition after her first litter so I showed her a little. She took Best of Opposite both days at the Howard County shows on October 14th and 15th, 2006, and she was handled by Jeff. She took Best of Breed both days at the Middleburg Kennel Club shows on October 28th and 29th, 2006. She also took Best of Opposite at the Western Reserve Kennel Club Show in Cleveland, Ohio on Sunday, December 17, 2006. Scout took Best of Breed both days of the Southern Maryland shows on June 30th and July 1st, 2007. Now that Scout is spayed, we can only show her at the specialty in the veterans class but she looks as beautiful as ever. Scout competed in veteran sweeps at the 2010 IWS national specialty and she won her 7-9 year old class. This was great as she beat the bitch who won the 2008 national specialty. She still moves like a dream!
